A fantastic pediatric dentist!

This is a GREAT practice. Very professional and friendly. Dr. Matthew Asermely is so great with the kids. He puts them at ease and connects really well with the patients and family. We have enjoyed having our kids be treated by him. The nurses and assistants are also very helpful and kind. The front office is also professional, efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Dr Asermely and this practice to anyone looking for a great dentist in Newton who cares about patients more than money. They also accept Delta Dental which is the insurance we have through our work that most practices in Newton do not accept anymore.

We have been patients at Waban Dental for 25 years- I have never had a bad experience! Today they squeezed my daughter in for X-rays and send off a referral for wisdom teeth extraction - all before noon on the day I called! First time meeting Dr. Asermely- he's terrific. Excellent care at this facility!

Dr. Matt is a miracle worker. My 10-year-old complained about pain with chewing. Dr. Matt saw him within 24 hours and fixed the problem in 5 min. He is kind and great with kids. I can recommend!

Get to Know Dr. Matthew Asermely

As a pediatric dentist in Newton, I strive to foster a fun and interactive experience for all my patients while providing high quality oral health care. I treat infants, children through adolescence, and adults who have special health care needs.

I became a pediatric dentist to help children overcome challenges and develop self-confidence. It is no secret that dental treatment can be challenging and scary for any patient regardless of age. My goal is to make every dental appointment easy for both my patients and their families. In doing so, I hope to instill a positive association with routine dental visits for each child that lasts their entire life.

Doctor of Dental Surgery – University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine
Bachelor of Science in Microbiology – University of Massachusetts Amherst

I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology. Following, I graduated with honors from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. During my educational years, I was privileged to travel to rural America and Senegal on mission trips, providing underserved children and adults with free dental care.

After graduation, I completed a rigorous two-year pediatric residency program through Harvard University at Boston Children’s Hospital, where I served as chief resident. My training focused on providing safe treatment to children with special health care needs. I am a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry.

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, traveling, and trying new restaurants. I am also a passionate fan of all Boston sports teams and love to catch a game in any season. You may see me walking around Boston with my girlfriend and Charlie the Labrador Retriever.
