Modern Dentures Appear Natural and Feel Comfortable
Dentures have been around for centuries. Modern technology has improved the way dentures look and feel. Now, patients who are recommended for dentures can enjoy natural-looking results and a comfortable fit.
What Types of Dentures Are Available?
Dentures are offered as complete and partial sets. Complete sets are for those that are missing all of their teeth. Whereas, partial sets are recommended for those that are missing some teeth. It is important to note that teeth extraction may be part of your treatment. We will discuss this procedure if applicable.
How Quickly Can I Receive A Set Of Dentures?
Immediate dentures are given to you on the same day as your teeth extraction. This is the most convenient option, but you will need to return for another visit to realign the set.
Conventional dentures are created after your teeth are extracted. This method allows for your mouth to fully heal before you place the dentures on your gums. You will have to be careful with your diet during the transition period. Although this option can take a few weeks, it offers the patient with the best fit.
How Do I Maintain My Dentures?
Your new dentures will require daily care. They can become damaged if they are neglected. Be sure to keep them in clean water when you are not wearing them in order to prevent warping. You should brush your set at least twice a day to prevent bacterial growth. In addition, brush your gums, inner cheeks, and tongue every day.
Maintain your routine dental exams. These visits allow the dentist to examine your oral health. They will also check your dentures for damage and realign them if needed.
Lastly, we strongly recommend avoiding hard foods and candies as they can damage your dentures. Should your dentures become damaged or fit loose, please contact your dentist right away.
