Best appointment ever. Christina reminded me it was X-Ray time and I was concerned about continuing recession of gums. With the X-Rays developed she had Dr. Di Pialo check my teeth and X-Rays. The doctor told me I was holding my own and not to worry. Yahoo...Yipee...Yipee. Christina has a very magic touch because she was able to clean my teeth without Oraqix and I didn't feel a thing.

General Dentist

Dr. Leonard Di Paolo

Purpose:

My intention is to create positive dental experiences and to build long-term professional relationships with my patients. I do this by taking the time to partner with each of my patients and listening empathically, learning and understanding their emotional needs, desires, and goals as well as thoroughly examining specific dental issues. Through this mutual understanding I can provide and maintain the highest level of oral health and personal well-being appropriate for each individual. I am consistent in continued education and training to enhance my skills and maintain the latest knowledge in emerging trends and both technical and non-technical areas of dentistry.

Education and Background:

Implant Mini-Residency- NHOMS and MassOMS Mini-Residency Programs

Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Georgetown University School of Dentistry

Bachelor of Science in BiologyBoston College

My dental focus is on Restorative, Prosthetic and Implant Dentistry. As a lifelong resident of Newton, I attended all Newton Public Schools including Claflin Elementary School, F.A. Day Jr. High, and Newton North High School. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston College and then Graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC. My formal training continued as I pursued a General Practice Resident at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, NH. After graduation, I started and operated my own private practice in New Hampshire to where I had commuted from Newton for several decades.

Presently, I continue to pursue my postgraduate training by attending 60 or more hours a year of Continuing Education Credits. I continue to maintain a decade-long membership in an Implant Mini-Residency based out of NH and has now expanded to MA called the NHOMS and MassOMS Mini-Residency Programs. Most notably, I have studied Periodontology intensively with Dr. Myron Nevins’ Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and studied Occlusion and Prosthetics at The Pankey Institute and with Dr. Peter Dawson of the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, FL as well as Dr. Frank Spear from the Spear Institute in N. Scottsdale, AZ.

Outside the Office:

I reside in West Newton with my wife, Teresa, of 40 years, and our rescue dog, Bernie. My two children are also NNHS graduates. Michele is the COO of Creative Riff in NYC and Caroline is a Special Education Teacher in Somerville. I am a competent guitar player and I love to ski with my daughters. In the summers I cycle along The Charles River into Cambridge and Boston.
